Flower or concentrates? Which one’s for you? Today, we’re going to go over how they compare, the types available, and what you should look for when entering the store.
So, flower is the traditional form of cannabis. It’s just the dried buds of the plant. It comes in three different types: indica, sativa, or hybrid. The indica is known for its calming, body-focused effects—best used at night. Sativa is uplifting and energizing. It’s reported to help with focus, mood, and fatigue, often used during the daytime. Hybrids are a mix between indica and sativa strains, offering a more balanced experience. Hybrids can lean either indica or sativa, giving it a more energized effect or sometimes a more relaxed effect.
Concentrates are a highly potent form of cannabis. They’re reported to offer faster and stronger relief than flower, especially for patients that have sudden and severe symptoms. A few common forms of concentrate are live rosin, wax, shatter, budder, and RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). Concentrates are more potent than flower, so they are recommended for more experienced users.
