Hi, I’m Sara from Central Ave and today we’re going to be talking about the difference between live resin and live rosin.

So live means that they take the entire plant and they will flash freeze it immediately keeping all of the trichomes and cannabinoids fresh. If it’s not live, that means that they’re going to dry the plant, cure it and do the regular harvest cycle.

So some things you’ll see at the dispensary is live rosin and live resin. There are some differences there, but they’re both very good products to get.

We’re going to start with the live resin and that is when they take the live cannabinoids and and trichomes and they will extract that through a
solvent process, whether it’s butane, propane, or ethanol and that process will pull all of the cannabinoids out and leave just the solvent. So you will not be getting any butane or ethanol in your product.

So the other option when it comes to live concentrates is live rosin. Live rosin
is the same type of process when it comes to the plant. You’re going to take the flash-frozen plant and instead of using any solvents they will take the fresh plant and put it in a rosin press, which is just two very hot plates that they will press together, and that will extract all of the terpenes, the cannabinoids, and all the flavonoids from the plant and give you the best product possible. That is going to be the closest to the actual strain when it comes to potency, flavor, and aroma.

Both of these products are very good. I would say these are really beneficial for patients that like to smoke flower and want the full benefits of smoking flower but want to have the convenience of the vape or just a concentrate. It’s more potent than just the flower, but the flavor and the effects are just the same.

So, some of the products that we have here at Central Ave are Good Chemistry, Cresco, and Strane. The Good Chemistry is live rosin, and if you can see these are very light in color which is just the trichomes and cannabinoids. There’s no excess plant matter or any solvent in this at all. This is a Strane cartridge and this is Cresco [cartridge]. Both are liquid live resin extracted with butane but “live” which means that all of the trichomes, flavonoids, cannabinoids, and terpenes are still very potent and active.
